Purpose of the role

The position will report to the Business Operations manager, and offers a challenging role within a diverse and geographically spread business. The Business Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the Local Operations in their Business Operations solutions and ensuring that the implemented solutions meet the business requirements and changes follow correct Change Management procedures.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities (incl. key stakeholders)

  • Provide support to Operating Companies who are using the O&D solutions and ensure open issues are resolved in accordance with SLA’s.
  • Provide direction and expertise in the technical design and system architecture of CRH Order & Dispatch (O&D) Solutions.
  • Develop, document and revise system processes, test procedures and training procedures.
  • Take responsibility for the Change Management processes for the O&D solutions.
  • Partner with the local Operating Companies to assist in maximizing the benefits they can gain from the O&D solution
  • Ensuring CRH receives a high level of service and value for money from 3rd party vendors

Key functional competencies

  • Previous Experience of O&D solutions
  • Strong testing experience and use of testing tools
  • Strong competency in troubleshooting, software development processes and ability to understand and implement client requirements.
  • Develop, document and revise system processes, test procedures and training procedures. Document business cases and functional requirements based on user requirements.
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Citrix, Networks, Printers, SQL, Command Alkon


Education / experience

  • Degree in Information technology
  • Experience of Vendor Management
  • Experience in O&D solutions and their technical and support requirements.
  • Experience in Change Management processes.
