We’re now looking for an E-Sales Trainer for APG. The role can be anywhere based in Europe, but with a preference for the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Slovakia, or Poland. In this newly established opportunity, we looking to expand the successful commercial excellence training and support model that has been established over the past decade across Oldcastle APG’s North American businesses. The successful candidate will need to have significant problem-solving experience and a genuine appetite to learn and motivate. Although the role reports directly to the Director of Sales Operations, the Sales Trainer will have dotted line responsibilities to the Managing Directors of APG-Europe’s operating companies. You’ll partner with local businesses and their leadership teams to help create, manage, and implement commercial plans that improve margins and increase sales. The role will require you to build a broad understanding of sales practices across APG-Europe, learn the Commercial Performance System best practices, become an expert on APG’s instance of Salesforce.com, and conduct standard diagnostics and analyses. This opportunity focuses on three key competencies: Customer Service, Training, and Sales Strategies:

 

 Customer Service

  • Respond to requests in a timely manner including diagnostic and troubleshooting potential issues for quick resolution
  • Build an understanding of the unique and specific commercial excellence requirements of the APG-Europe business units
  • Generate and customise detailed program reports for sales teams
  • Recommend feasible strategies and tactics to improve business performance
  • Provide support as required to the local operating company sales teams

 

Training

  • Leverage commercial performance system best practices and use analytics to diagnose commercial performance
  • Deliver training of sales best practices varying audiences
  • Coordinate with central sales operation on the design and roll-out of Business Intelligence (BI) tools, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) reporting and tracking, and campaign analytics

 

Sales Strategies

  • Support Oldcastle APG strategic initiatives by developing and executing actionable commercial excellence plans through training and business analytics
  • Support the development and delivery of key performance metrics to leadership
  • Support the conduct of the CRH commercial excellence assessment
  • Work with sales team to identity market needs and opportunities
  • Analyse geographic sales territories to identify revenue/profit growth potential
  • Utilize and implement comprehensive commercial pipeline reports to track opportunities
  • Administer and manage sales forecasting capability

Requirements, Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a sales trainer or in a sales development role
  • Familiarity with commercial practices in the building products industry
  • Ability to proficiently analyse complex data resulting in actionable deliverables
  • Experience with Tableau and Salesforce.com is desirable
  • Demonstrable analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Effective presentation skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to adapt the message to fit the audience.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in multiple languages (e.g., Polish, English, Slovak, German, and Dutch)
  • 50% travel within Europe
