About The Role 
 

We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic IT Project Manager to manage several significant, complex and challenging IT transformation projects across Europe within our dynamic organization. In this exciting position you’ll lead projects within the European IT Portfolio throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that projects produce the expected deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and costs, as well as realising the potential benefits defined at project inception.  

 

This opportunity is based at our vibrant Amsterdam office, next to the Amsterdam World Trade Center. In addition to your demonstrable project management experience, you’ll have the capability to effectively work with multiple internal and external teams, plus a confidence and mindset to continuously improve the way we do things. 

 

Reporting directly to the Head of Europe IT PMO you’ll work closely with the European IT team across all disciplines. This is an exciting time to join our European IT organization, as we are implementing a new IT operating model as part of a large IT transformation programme. 

 

Main Responsibilities  

 

In this role you’ll be responsible for: 

  • Effective execution, coordination, and organization of multiple IT projects from project definition business case to successful delivery and adoption, while working closely with internal and external vendors and technical teams, business functions, and our European IT organization  

  • Planning, initiating, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating project activities, timelines, deliverables, staffing, risk mitigation, reporting, and communication activities required to deliver project objectives 

  • Project Issue and Risk Management – ensuring project predictability by anticipating and evaluating factors that may compromise project success and mitigate those risks so that the project objectives are consistently delivered 

  • Managing overall project documentation and status reporting   

  • Communicating accurately and in a timely way with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation  

  • Coordinating project team activities, and where required, vendors activities, to ensure that projects progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget with a focus on the critical path 

  • Liaising with a wide range of stakeholders to determine and prioritize project objectives and critical success factors, and to facilitate decision making 

 

Experience & Qualifications 

 

  • University degree, preferably in the field of computer science or engineering for technical project managers - or equivalent experience 

  • 5+ years working experience as a project manager in the information technology sector, with a specific focus on transition, consolidation, and improving IT services.  

  • Proven technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in areas such as ERP, CRM, Digital, software, infrastructure, or web projects 

  • Developed client-facing, written and verbal communication skills, and a proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels including senior management  

  • A structured, well-organized and methodic approach to projects 

  • Prince 2, PMI or Agile methodologies accredited is desirable 

  • Experience in Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestments is desirable
