Regional Category Manager General Services - Dublin

CRH is looking for a well-rounded and experienced Regional Category Manager General Services. You have extensive experience in the procurement of indirect categories with a main focus on temporary labour, consultancy and traveli & expenses. Other important aspects of this role are procurement strategy development and execution under the leadership of the Global Category Managerand the functional management of a team of three Local Category Managers (on dotted line). Global category spend is €850M p.a. of which €560M is in Europe.. This is an interesting time to board CRH as you can be part of the development of the procurement function and category management on a strategic level. As such, we are looking for resilient, entrepreneurial procurement professionals who are able to create and drive excellence.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Driving the realization of savings, efficiency, quality, and process improvements. You will have accountability for results at a regional level;
  • Based on actual business demand, devising category and supplier strategies and translating them into executable sourcing plans;
  • Executing sourcing projects from capturing requirements through managing eRFx events and leading commercial and contract negotiations to supplier selection and implementation;
  • Managing key supplier relationships including regular performance reviews;
  • Managing a team of Local Category Managers functionally (on dotted line) and mostly remotely, as they are located in different countries;
  • Acting as interface with all countries in the region (communications to and from countries will be done through you as a Regional Category Manager); Identify, develop and implement efficiency in processes, systems and communication as part of the procurement division; 
  • Ensuring compliance with the procurement process, GDPR, SOx and other statutory requirements as relevant to the category.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Finished Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in any business related study in combination with 8 years of procurement experience in an international setting and 3 years of people management experience;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as category manager of indirect spend in a large, complex multi-country organization, preferably in the area of professional / corporate services;
  • Well-rounded and experienced procurement professional with sound business acumen;
  • Data and people driven leader and decision maker;
  • Ability to lead and drive the execution of the global category strategy in the region;
  • Dedicated partner who strongly engages with the business to enhance collaboration and ensure that procurement objectives are met;
  • Ability lead international projects.
  • Ready for a high degree of travel required in order to perform the role effectively (around 40%).
