Regional Category Manager IT & Telecom - Amsterdam

CRH is looking for a well-rounded and experienced Regional Category Manager IT & Telecom. An important component of this role is to be part of the strategy development of procurement in different regions, and to manage a team of Local Category Managers functionally. The total spend responsibility for this category in Europe lies around €200 million. This is an interesting time to board CRH as you can be part of the development of procurement and category management on a strategical, tactical and operational level. As such, we are looking for resilient, entrepreneurial procurement professionals who are able to create and drive excellence.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the realization of savings, efficiency, quality, and process improvements. You will have accountability for results at a regional level;
  • Translating category and supplier strategies into executable sourcing plans based on actual portfolio demands;
  • Develop the strategy of procurement related to logistics together with the team;
  • Manage a team of Local Category Managers functionally and mostly remote, as they are working in different countries;
  • Identify, develop and implement efficiency in processes, systems and communication as part of the procurement division;
  • Executing regional supplier selection in line with strategy, requirements, supplier base development, and identification of new suppliers;
  • Ensuring efficient RFx process from selection through onboarding according to the agreed strategies;
  • Leading price negotiations, contract, and life cycle management with suppliers;
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement process, SOX and other statutory requirements within own category;
  • Acting as interface with countries (communications to countries and from the countries will be done through you as a Regional Category Manager);
  • Ensuring cost, availability, innovation, and quality within the sourcing plan creation and execution.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Finished Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in any business related study in combination with 8 years of Procurement experience in international setting and 3 years of People Management experience;
  • Recent experience as a Category Manager in IT & Telecom in a large complex multi-country organization;
  • Previous experience in the development of procurement and category management on a strategical, tactical and operational level;
  • Well-rounded and experienced Procurement professional with sound business acumen;
  • Data and people driven leader and decision maker;
  • Ability to lead and drive the execution of the regional category management agenda;
  • Dedicated and engaged partner who strongly engages with both the business and the global procurement organization to enhance collaboration and obtaining the regional procurement objective;
  • Ready for a high degree of international travel required in order to perform the role effectively;
  • Experience as a procurement professional in Logistics Service Providers is a big benefit.

THE TEAM

You will be part of the IT & Telecom category team as well as an international team of Regional Category Managers who are primarily located in Amsterdam, Dublin and Atlanta.
