Position Overview 

We’re looking for an ambitious and suitably qualified Senior Automation Engineer – Europe. The role can be based flexibly across Europe and will report into the VP Performance and Operations. As we continue to invest in our digital manufacturing across our global production sites, we are aiming to have smart connected operations globally. We are looking for an experienced automation engineer, who can support our journey in Europe. The role will be centrally based however, you’ll be required to work closely with regional operations teams to identify and prioritise investment, as well as supporting with the implementation of projects across Leviat.

 

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for a number of evolving tasks including:

  • Reviewing existing technology landscapes and developing site by site roadmaps for automation – identifying and agreeing priority with local teams
  • Providing technical expertise to engineering teams with regards to automation design, specification, integration, control and communication protocols
  • Developing innovative solutions of automation of key processes – cutting / welding / forging / threading/bending
  • Implementing intelligent automation and SCADA system within EU production sites
  • Developing a set of trusted suppliers and systems integrators with the view to standardising on equipment where possible
  • Communicating key machines with the ERP system (SAP S4 HANA)
  • Measuring and reporting improvements from investments in digital manufacturing and automation 
  • Reviewing work processes within operations with a view to streamlining and automation

 

 

Key Functional Competencies and Relevant Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree ideally in engineering or relevant equivalent work experience

 

Specific Knowledge:

  • Fluency in English. Additional capability in either French or German is essential
  • Excellent organization skills
  • PLC’s, HMI, motion control, robotics, vision and comms protocols
  • Data analytics expertise using PowerBI or similar
  • Green / Black Belt certified

 

 

 

Working Experience:

  • Proven experience of working in a full-time automation engineering role. Previous experience with SCADA / MES / production cell automation.
