Position Overview

The Aggregate Sales Representative is responsible for driving pricing growth, exceptional customer service, and market expansion through the sales of crushed limestone, sand, and gravel. This is a high-visibility, field-based role that demands consistent face-to-face customer engagement, proactive prospecting, and disciplined account management.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, hungry professional who thrives on personal growth, enjoys solving problems, and is eager to develop skills that deliver results. Daily logging of all sales activity, market intelligence, and macroeconomic data points in Salesforce is required to ensure transparency, collaboration, and planning accuracy.

This role will collaborate closely with production, sales, and marketing across multiple operating companies. Success will require exceptional time management, the ability to plan and execute daily objectives, and frequent overnight travel throughout the region.

 

Key Responsibilities

  •  Actively pursue sales of crushed stone, sand, and gravel to private contractors, municipalities, commercial businesses, and other key accounts in the territory.

  •  Maintain a heavy emphasis on in-person visits to build meaningful customer relationships and grow wallet share.

  •  Log daily sales activities, customer interactions, competitor actions, and relevant macroeconomic insights into Salesforce to support data-driven decisions.

  •  Execute pricing strategies and market development plans under the guidance of the Director of Sales.

  •  Prioritize and plan daily objectives to ensure maximum coverage of high-impact activities and customer engagements.

  •  Collaborate with peers across business lines and adjacent territories to offer tailored solutions for complex customer needs.

  •  Provide regular updates on market trends, customer feedback, backlog status, and forecast adjustments.

  •  Respond promptly to customer requests, RFQs, and project updates, maintaining a high level of service and urgency.

  •  Work closely with operations to align supply capabilities with customer demand.

  •  Attend sales meetings and contribute market knowledge, customer insights, and sales performance updates.

  •  Represent the company at local industry events and build a pipeline of new business opportunities.

  •  Maintain strict compliance with safety policies and company procedures.

 

Qualifications

  •  Proven experience in construction materials sales (crushed stone, sand, gravel, concrete, or asphalt preferred).

  •  Demonstrated success in face-to-face selling and territory development.

  •  Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to independently plan and prioritize.

  •  Proficiency with CRM platforms, especially Salesforce, and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

  •  Strong communication and interpersonal skills; capable of working in a cross-functional team environment.

Additional Requirements

  •  Adherence to all safety policies and active participation in company safety initiatives.

  •  Must be available to work occasional nights/weekends as needed.

  •  Attendance and punctuality are essential.

  •  Must be physically able to climb, walk, and carry equipment as needed in a construction site environment.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

 

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
