Position Overview 

 

The Crusher Laborer is responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, and housekeeping of crushing and screening equipment while helping the team achieve production, quality, and safety goals. This position works closely with equipment operators, maintenance personnel, and plant leadership in a fast-paced quarry and aggregate production environment.

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

  • Performs machinery maintenance and repairs. 
  • Unplugs and shovels off conveyors and screens. 
  • Changes out screens, rollers, cone liners, etc. 
  • Repairs conveyor problems. 
  • Greases moving machine parts.
  • Performs crusher machinery set up and take down which includes running cables and hoses, setting up blocks, assembling/disassembling machinery, operating skid steer to move parts, tarping, shoveling aggregate, etc.
  • Help maintain the operation of the crusher.
  • Keeps crusher machinery area clean of debris and shovels aggregate.
  • Operates equipment to include skid steer (and loader if trained). 
  • Moves excess materials from around the crusher machinery.
  • Uses various equipment, hand and power tools.
  • Picks up and/or delivers construction materials at job site locations. 
  • Performs job site clean-up.
  • Maintains all tools and equipment in safe and clean condition.
  • Ability to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education/Experience

 

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in aggregate production, construction, mining, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
  • Ability to safely work around heavy equipment and moving machinery.
  • Must have basic mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn crushing operations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to work weekends as per the needs of the business.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work around dust, noise, vibration, and moving equipment while wearing required PPE.

  • Quarry and aggregate production setting.
  • Overtime, weekend work, and seasonal schedule fluctuations may be required.
