SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Vice President of Sales and Logistics and the direct supervision of Emulsion and Chip Stone Sales Manager, the representative is responsible for assisting in the liquid product sales, chip aggregates product sales, marketing, planning and execution of new product development and formulation for highway preventive maintenance, pavement preservation, paving, and various specialty product applications, and all related tasks and activities.  Also assists in terminal laboratory and operations activities if necessary.

 

KNOWLEDGE and ABILITIES

The ability to work independently, coordinate a variety of tasks and activities, communicate with others, prepare comprehensive reports, speak and write effectively, assimilate and understand information, and make sound decisions consistent with company policies and procedures is required.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Assists with plans, coordination, and execution of sales and marketing activities of liquid and chip aggregate products.
     
  • Assists/executes technical support and training to manufacturing and sales for scale up, commercialization, and implementation of new products in manufacturing and marketplace.
     
  • Assists/executes technical support for clients as necessary or required.
     
  • Assists/evaluates competitive products and processes and presents alternatives for marketing and sales to maintain or improve market presence.
     
  • Assists in the coordination of activities with research, laboratory, operations, and sales and marketing to develop new products, improve existing products, and/or meet client requirements related to product supply.
     
  • Attends industry conferences and meetings externally and internally as required.
     
  • Provides verbal and written communications to keep management and sales team members updated on sales activities, product technologies, competitive evaluations, and ideas for new products and processes.
     
  • Assists with Terminal Laboratory and Operations tasks and activities as necessary.
     
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
     
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    None unless or except as directed by direct supervisor(s).

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Sufficient educations, training and/or work experience to demonstrate possession of the knowledge and skills described herein. Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Business or Science.  None or very little industry or transferrable experience.  Other requirements:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office or Apple equivalent
  • Proficient at verbal and written communications
  • Valid Driver’s License and a driving record in compliance with the company’s Motor Vehicle Policy.
  • Must maintain a driving record in compliance with the company’s Motor Vehicle Policy

 

REASONING ABILITIES:

Must be able to understand and communicate safety, environmental, and health regulations. Display an aptitude for analysis and interpretation of data and situational problem solving with little or no supervision.  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Office work, site work, and some travel that may or may not involve overnight lodging may be necessary. Outdoor work at mining, manufacturing and construction locations may require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), depending on conditions and may present exposure to varying levels of safety risk.  Ability to walk over uneven or soft surfaces. Ability to ascend and descend vertical ladders and/or stairways and sufficient dexterity and strength to climb on and off other accessible equipment/structures.  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
