Position Overview
The CARA team acts as a financial service centre for the Amsterdam Head Office divisions and functions. We play a central role within the wider finance organisation and are responsible for the AP/AR processes, VAT compliance, payroll review, financial reporting for our legal holding entities on a global scale and provide parent company services and funding for CRH group companies all over the world. We work in close collaboration with the CRH Legal, Tax, HR Operations, Risk & Compliance and Group Treasury teams.
As the Manager of the CARA team, you will lead and oversee the finance function for Corporate Netherlands. The team is responsible for head office accounting of CRH Nederland BV, and the statutory reporting of the Dutch Holding entities. Therefore you oversee the corporate processes performed by the team; accounts payable/receivable; monthly, quarterly and annual group reporting; budget; forecasting; ensuring the accurate and timely preparation and delivery of financial information. You will engage with other functions to ensure compliance of the corporate entities with reporting and regulatory requirements. This role is critical in supporting strategic decision-making through data-driven insights and will act as the liaison between various departments, senior management, and external stakeholders.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 9 professionals, ensuring high levels of engagement, performance, and continuous learning. Conduct regular performance reviews, providing feedback and support to enhance individual and team capabilities.
- Oversee the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and company policies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, maintaining a robust internal control framework for financial reporting. Identify and mitigate risks within the reporting processes.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including senior management, auditors, and external partners, to ensure that reporting processes and deliverables meet the company’s objectives.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of reports to regulatory bodies, and other external parties as required.
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of reporting workflows. Manage development of local ERP, as functional application owner.
- Oversee corporate capital management through liaison with group treasury, tax and legal.
- Corporate administration of the Dutch cash pool.

- Driving operational change and processing improvements
Experience / Education
You are/have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting. A professional certification such as RA, ACCA or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of related accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
