Position Overview

In the context of transformation and standardization of our infrastructure services, we are looking for an enthusiastic Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer.
The Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer is responsible for maintaining our administration and maintenance of the Azure Virtual Desktop platform in Europe as well as the standardization of the environment. You will define and advice the service delivery and perform service integrations along our service provider team and trusted partners.
As a Subject Matter Expert, you will provide technical skills as well as support for the existing processes and you are ready to innovate/mature/deploy this service within CRH and its subsidiaries and you have to act accordingly to render the service efficiently.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for the following tasks to be completed in a well done manner:

• Architect, design, implement and operate DaaS solution/s for the organization.
• Optimize Azure Virtual Desktop performance, scalability, and security.
• Provide end-users with a consistent and efficient virtual endpoint experience.
• Define standards for managing Azure Virtual Desktop including Nerdio.
• Continuously monitor and optimize platform performance, ensuring seamless user experience.
• Collaborate with security to implement and manage appropriate security measures.
• Participate in the evaluation and definition of the User Experience, specifying standards for how applications and desktops should perform, anticipating user interaction with upgrades and patch management, optimizing user interfaces, and ensuring intuitive, elegant system design and optimal supportability.
• Demonstrate expert-level proficiency with key technologies to be supported, including willingness and ability to develop expertise in new technologies as needed.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement of the AVD Platform.
• Evaluate the impact of relevant emerging technology and business trends.

You will be asked as well to supervise resources from our preferred Service Provider:

• From an operational support perspective, ensuring all the tasks related to supporting Virtual Desktop Infrastructure are executed as per our standard, and Making sure the service meets its SLA/SLI/SLO targets.
• You  provide assistance for Level 3 troubleshooting, root cause analytics, performance benchmarking.
• Deliver monthly reports and assist in developing the roadmap of the service.
• Assist in the necessary testing and periodic Disaster Recovery assessments of the Service.

Experience / Education
You are/have:

• In depth (2 years+) knowledge of Azure Virtual Desktop 
• Active Directory Tooling management experiences (Group policy objects and its linking to OU structures, Inheritance)
• Intune Device Management (Configuration policies, Entra Hybrid Join integration)
• Entra AD (SSO, Entra Hybrid Join)
• Basic level of education 
• Working in cross-functional teams on a European or Global level
