About the role  


We are currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic IT Network Manager to join our Europe IT team based in Amsterdam. In this leadership role, you'll manage and direct a small internal team of Network & Communications experts, as well as monitor and manage the delivery of all vendors associated with the Network & Communications tower. You'll ensure that vendors are performing in line with contractual agreements and define the overall strategy for the interactions the IT Infrastructure and Operations area has with relevant vendors in order to fulfil the needs of the business. This will be delivered through use of best of industry practice and innovative technology solutions. 


Main responsibilities 


 In this role you'll: 

  • Drive the efficiency of the infrastructure relating to the Network & Communication function in the business, using a relentless approach in order to achieve optimal outputs. 

  • Be responsible for selecting and managing the vendor approach and service improvements and outputs of these vendors. 

  • Ensure that vendors are aligned and prioritised to meet the OLAs and SLAs required by the business. 

  • Develop our Network & Communications strategy, adopting best practices, and executing to deliver highly resilient, high-performing offerings for the Network & Communications function. 

  • Determine the best solutions and tools to ensure appropriate controls, protection, visibility, and efficiencies exist in the vendor offerings. 

  • Consistently improve performance, reliability, and control costs over time based on operational metrics. 

  • Deliver and support projects of all sizes and ensure that these projects meet the requirements as set by the Security operations team. 

  • Maintain & update the road-map for vendor approach in the Network function. 

  • Manage the team to support & deliver Network services. Key stakeholders include the entire IT leadership team; Networking & Comms function; Cross-functional IT teams; Senior leadership (various) as required to support projects and initiatives. 

  • Attract, develop, mentor and retain talent to ensure an engaged workforce that supports the delivery of current and future technology goals 

  • Work in close alignment with finance, financial management of the technology asset base, supporting the optimisation of the technology landscape, along with anticipating budgetary needs.  

  • Spearhead cultural change; opening the eyes of our teams to the opportunity and responsibility they have. The candidate will need to be skilled to tune the message to create curiosity in the traditionalists and manage the expectations of our teams as we pivot towards a technology driven culture and mindset 

Frequent travel (10-20%) is expected in this role. 


Experience & qualifications   


  • Bachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, security & information systems, business administration, related field or equivalent work experience 

  • Demonstrable experience in designing, setting up and managing IT network and network security solutions 

  • Implementation of flexible staffing models utilizing both onshore and offshore partners 

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a large, matrixed organization, successfully influencing others, promoting change and building partnerships to both deliver projects and drive cultural change in an organization 

  • Track record in building IT teams and helping professionals grow 

  • Highly desirable to hold Information Technology, Network and Security certification and qualifications, such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL 

  • Fluent English. Other European languages are an advantage
