Position Overview
The role of IT Lead Architect is responsible for leading the team of Infrastructure Architects supporting the design, development, delivery and maintenance of IT products and services for the CRH business. They have demonstrable technology knowledge in their field, domain or specialism and are a vocal supporter for the architecture role/purpose, including building high quality products and services that efficiently meet the needs of CRH operating companies and functions . The role entails the sharing of knowledge and experience - blending technical knowledge, architecture and development skills. Infrastructure Architects have a breadth of understanding across a range of technical domains and depth of experience in at least one domain or specialism (see desirable).


Key Tasks and Responsibilities
In this role, you will be:

  • Delivering and managing technical design of a product or part of a shared platform.
  • Ensuring technical quality and adhering to architecture principles and road-maps.
  • Supporting development of the CRH IT organization by sharing best practice and reference architectures.
  • Engaging with other architects and engineering teams to implement the solutions needed by the business.
  • Delivering & ensuring product solutions and be accountable for product architecture in alignment with engineering.
  • Identifying, capturing, sharing and iterating reference patterns and architectures.
  • Implementing and sharing patterns to create reference architectures.
  • Creating innovative solutions and recommendations for improvement throughout the Service Design & Engineering function.
  • Governing, managing, and supporting a Technical Design Authority.
  • Partnering with colleagues to establish and enforce security best practices, including data encryption, identity and access management (IAM), and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps engineers, and security experts, to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud solutions.
  • Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of cloud architecture, configurations, and procedures.

Experience / Education
You are/have:

  • In depth (5 years+) knowledge and working in an IT architecture role
  • Degree (or equivalent) level education level of education 
  • Working in cross-functional teams on a European or Global level in a federated model

  • Management of the delivery of our Europe IT hardware asset management strategy
  • Work with IT Teams, ServiceNow tower lead and hardware asset management analysts
  • Develop team members and provide direction
  • Aim for sustainable usage of our IT assets and align with our Europe Green IT Sustainability goals
