Position Overview

The role of Senior Network Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, development, delivery and operational support of the wide and local area networks for CRH. They have demonstrable technology knowledge in their field and are a vocal supporter in the network role, including delivering and supporting all aspects of the CRH network. The role entails that the individual have experience routing, firewall implementation and network design. They use these skills to drive consolidation and standardization while meeting business requirements for our local operating companies.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Be operationally responsible in terms of changes, incidents and requests for network services including LAN, WAN, and network security
• Oversight, input, and collaborate on the operational work by IT networking suppliers
• Support and input on IT projects, from a networking perspective
• Design and operationally support all aspects of networking, including Azure, Express Route, SD-WAN, firewall configuration and troubleshooting, and wifi.
• Drive operational improvements with new technologies, functions or processes.
• Experience deploying and maintaining Palo Alto firewalls (physical and virtual)
• This position requires to be part of a standby rotation covering Network Services (up to 13 weekly duties per year maximum).

Required: Specific technology knowledge in Azure deployments in terms of networking and networking security (UDRs, Peering, etc.)

Stakeholders: I&O Director; I&O Tower Leads; Cross-functional IT teams; Senior leadership (various) as required to support projects and initiatives.

Travel expectations: Infrequent travel (10%) is expected in this role.

Experience/Education

You are/have:

• Degree level or other relevant education
• 5+ years in service support organization working on networking and network security, CCNP/CCIE certification preferred
• Proven experience of working in a federated matrix model.
• Language: English (fluent) Desirable: Second European language (preferred)
