Position Overview


The Cloud Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, provisioning and maintaining highly available and scalable infrastructure, leveraging virtualized public and private cloud solutions.  This individual participates in technical research to assist with the delivery and ongoing support of innovative infrastructure environments. This individual will ensure that all solutions with related procedures adhere to organizational standards, controls and best practices according to industry standards. 


Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


  • Manage and Maintain all Virtual and Physical, Cloud and Premise Based Backups
  • Work with Security and Operations Team to Collect, Manage and Analyze Log Data
  • Proactively Ensure the Highest Levels of Operational Service for all Systems and Infrastructure
  • Monitor and Test Application Performance and Availability; Design Operational Processes; Collaborate with Management, Developers and Engineers on Integration
  • Extend Business Continuity into Cloud and Premise Based Solutions
  • Drives Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in the Design of Information and Operational Support Systems
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd Level Support
  • Liaise with Vendors and other IT Personnel on Problem Resolution
  • Generate Quality Documentation of Procedures and Processes




Sufficient education, training and/or work experience required to demonstrate possession of the following knowledge and skills




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Similar Preferred
  • Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert Certification Desired
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2016 MCSA/MCSE Certification Preferred
  • 4+ years Microsoft Systems Administration
  • 2+ years Supporting 10+ Location Enterprise Environment
  • VMware ESXi / vSphere Experience a Plus

Knowledge/Skill Requirements


  • Hands on Experience with Container Orchestration: Docker / Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) 
  • Proficient in DNS, Load Balancing, IPv4, TCP/UDP Protocols and Geographically Distributed Services
  • Fluent in PowerShell Scripting
  • Working Knowledge of Automation Tools
  • Strong Oral and Written Communication including Presentation Skills
  • Ability to Manager Vendors / Partners
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Excellent understanding of ITIL Best Practices, Including Change and Incident Management
