JOB DESCRIPTION:

Support the delivery and transportation business unit in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly analysis and reporting to drive the business.  Assist the organization in planning and supporting profitable and efficient businesses.  Completion of special projects and ad hoc analysis as directed to provide timely information and support for tactical and strategic decisions.  Work closely with management to conceptualize, complete and present analysis that will drive the decision-making process.  Analysis and reporting will be utilized to impact decision making processes that drive metrics such as profitability, sales, margin, turns, and utilization.

 

KEY DUTIES:

  • Create, analyze, and distribute accurate reports to business unit as needed/requested. Assist team with determining key metrics for management review. Assist in the development of exception-based reporting for the user community.
  • Manage the AP process for the delivery business, including resolving rate discrepancies.
  • Analyze delivery business and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Identify gaps in our current process and help develop corrective plans.
  • Build and maintain strong productive partnerships with haul vendors.
  • Provide management with analysis information and understanding of trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations.
  • Assist in the development and execution of ad hoc business, and performance reporting using business reports and/or query languages such as Crystal Reporting, TSQL, etc., as requested by management.
  • Support efforts to rationalize and simplify reporting. Track status of key deliverables. Assist in roll out preparation and presentation of project deliverables.
  • Develop and/or maintain strong partnerships with cross functional teams from various business units to promote successful project completion.
  • Support data accuracy and integrity.
  • Additional other duties as assigned by local management.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction or related industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field is preferred.
  • Must be a hardworking, self-starter, and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Must be highly organized with a strong sense of urgency in executing responsibilities and flexible when business needs require immediate changes to priorities.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
  • Excel, Access, Hyperion/Essbase, Word, and PowerPoint experience is essential.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Crystal Reporting and SQL with experience querying data tables within ERP/database systems.
  • Reporting and analysis background, preferable.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred.
