 This is a skilled position that is a member of an accounting team that is responsible for performing the accounting duties of a large construction and manufacturing company.

The accounting specialist should possess strong communication, problem solving, and Microsoft Excel skills

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare weekly, daily, monthly journal/accrual entries. 
  • Perform many parts of month end close process. 
  • Reconcile general ledger account balances. 
  • Perform the weekly check run process in accordance with company processes and controls.
  • Maintain and administer ancillary web based platforms.
  • Produce and manage sales & use tax filings, tax payments, and other required regulatory reporting. 
  • Effectively work with the operations team to evaluate, analyze, document capital project spending and organize for capitalization. 
  • Process asset capitalization, transfers, and disposals in fixed asset system 
  • Assist with projects, special analysis, future planning and ad hoc reporting. 
  • Provide backup assistance to other accounting functional areas. 
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding client and company financial information.
  • Build and maintain positive customer focused relationships with the operations team.

Requirements:

 Three Years related experience and/or training in A/P, A/R, and Billing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  Must be proficient in Microsoft products including Excel 

 Construction experience helpful
