Position Overview

Responsible for the overall performance of the assigned Tilcon Recycle scale house. Responsible to provide support to the leadership in order to Honor Tilcon’s core values of Safety, Integrity & Quality. Collaborate with others in a manner that develops, directs and motivates a team environment. Roles and Responsibilities

(Essential Functions)

  • Honor Tilcon’s core values of Safety, Integrity & Quality.
  • Focus on customer-centric solutions that deliver quality products and service that satisfies our customer’s needs.
  • Operate the Scale office in a manner compliant with Tilcon’s expectations of Integrity.
  • Maintain a professional appearance to the site, clean, neat and organized.
  • Work with site manager to appropriately sample and test material with agencies and label stockpiles.
  • Maintain compliance to regulatory agencies standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all Local, State, and Federal regulations and permits. .
  • Deliver World Class Performance that support the company’s financial goals.
  • Enter FOB orders at the point of sale accurately
  • Verify that material, truck number and destination of material are accurate for Tilcon delivered orders.
  • Verify that tickets are signed.
  • Dispatch trucks using the daily schedule.
  • Work with material order associates and communicate schedule discrepancies and no shows.
  • Update empty weight of trucks as required
  • Produce point of sale reports as directed.
  • Daily preparation of tickets, checks, credit card slips and cash receipts for Accounts Receivable Department.
  • Understand and comply with Tilcon New York, Inc. and Oldcastle procedures, policies and processes.
  • Assists other departments as requested or assigned
  • Regular and timely attendance is required
  • Performs related duties as required

 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Education/Experience

 Required:

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with 3 years+ of practical work experience.
  • Must have a strong background in math and science and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

 Preferred:

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the preferred knowledge, skills and abilities.

 

Work Requirements

  • Ability to read English language sufficiently to understand information contained in specifications, reports, manuals and regulations. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, staff, customers and the general public.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of operating procedures of an office.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations pertaining to, but not limited to, safety and the environment.
  • Ability to detect safety hazards and malfunctions and respond accordingly.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and company procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when required.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required.

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Ability to perform intermediate mathematical skills, including basic algebra, geometry, and shop math.
  • Ability to use a computer to communicate and analyze data. This includes but is not limited to the use of Outlook, MS Office programs, and web-based programs.
  • Be familiar with all roles, equipment, and tasks associated with the Recycle LOB and have the ability and willingness to fill in for any office role or task as necessary.
  • Working knowledge of English and Math, office practices and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain records and files.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with other personnel.
  • Ability to carry out complex oral and written instructions and deal with complex problems.
  • Ability to deal effectively with questions or problems, seeking assistance from internal and external sources when needed.
  • Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature.
  • Perform with frequent interruptions and/or distractions.
  • Make appropriate job decisions following standard policies and past precedents.
  • Recognize an emergency situation and take appropriate and timely actions.
  • Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
