About the role
We're currently looking for an ambitious & enthusiastic Buyer to join our Procurement team based in Buggenhout, Belgium.
The role is responsible for purchasing products for Belgium. This includes processing orders, negotiating the best price, quality and lead time with suppliers for non-standard products and raw materials.
It is also responsible for tracking orders, measuring the performance and maintaining good relationships with our suppliers.
Main responsibilities
In this role you'll:
- Process orders from your suppliers portfolio
- Research, select and purchase unusual products (nonstandard)
- Maintain a good relationship with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best delivery time and price (for non-standards and raw materials)
- Process requisitions and update our ERP on status of orders
- Arrange the transportation of goods when necessary and track orders to ensure timely delivery
- Escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management
- Coordinate with the inventory team in relation to stock updates
- Be resopnsible for fostering good relationships with suppliers.
Experience & qualifications
To be successful in this role you'll need:
- A knowledge of Supply chain & Stock management is desirable
- Demonstrable purchasing experience
- A knowledge of the metal industry is desirable
- Experience in continuous improvement
- Critical thinking and negotiating experience
- Good Microsoft and ERP skills (SAP is a plus)
- Developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Developed analytical skills are an added value
- Developed language skills. A fluency in Dutch, French and English is mandatory
