Job Summary

 

The O.S.R. will develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with current and potential customers, while meeting or exceeding sales targets.  The O.S.R. will spend 95% of their time on the road with contractors while developing relationships, maintaining specifications and closing business at the same time, driving OI interests (standards vs. specials) in the marketplace.  The O.S.R. will develop short and long-term sales strategies and sales plans to increase the region’s sales volume and profit margins

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • To develop strategies tactics that will ensure the attainment of company sales goals and profitability in key markets and accounts.
  • To deliver specific revenue volumes and Average Selling Price (ASP) expectations.
  • To develops specific action plans to achieve short and long-term goals for key clients and prospects.
  • To conduct in-depth analysis on demand forecasting, competitor capabilities, customer profiles and the next best alternatives.
  • To develop and maintain relationships within the contractor community and to leverage these relationships to ensure OI specifications are maintained. Where OI is not specified, to steer the product selection to an OI equivalent.
  • Act as a resource to the customer throughout the project lifecycle. This could include identifying opportunities, qualifying opportunities, providing basic budget pricing from price lists, identify when additional support resources are needed for the customer, and available through the project lifecycle.
  • To drive OI standards and modified standards with contractors to ensure continuous flow in OI facilities.
  • To ensure all necessary information and documentation is collected and seamlessly handed off to the Estimating team for take-off and quoting.
  • Work with estimator and S.M. on strategic proposals and pricing
  • Work with estimator to ensure all quoting documents required are accurately completed
  • To ensure specification work by Sales Engineers and Strategic Account Managers (S.A.M) are not changed by local contractors. 
  • To follow up on leads received from OI upstream Sales Engineer, (S.A.M) and from the National Customer Service Center (Via Telephone and Website)
  • To participate in monthly ride-alongs with Sales Engineers and support engineering questions related to on-site installation and contractor related questions.
  • To communicate with other OI commercial teams to manage and coordinate sales to customers who overlap, as well as to leverage the OI portfolio across company boundaries.
  • Actively participate in industry-related associations as required to develop and maintain key networking and business relationships.
  • Ensure all OI products are being considered – “Owning the Jobsite”
  • Work with SAM during strategic account opportunities

  • Sales Revenue Target by segment, geographic territory or account
  • Following up on leads within 24 hours
  • Ability to drive standards and modified standards over specials
  • Ability to maintain specifications with contractors

 

Qualifications / Required Skills

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Have 5+ years in civil infrastructure construction, precast concrete manufacturing sales, or similar product sales.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil design drawings, and engineering production drawings.
  • Must have ability to travel (Approx. 50% +) throughout the sales region.
  • Proficient in basic Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.)
  • Have a Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record; monthly auto reimbursement for mileage is provided.
