About the Job                       

In this role, you will be responsible for helping to executing Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope’s digital strategy in alignment with business requirements and priorities.  This role will support internal and external customer-facing websites and applications, working with key stakeholders.  It will play a significant role in support of the web applications for our business environment.  This role is accountable for collaborating with key business stakeholders and IT team members to ensure implemented solutions meet business needs and are sustainable and scalable to support business growth across the enterprise.

 

Your Role:

  • Oversee specific project segments; lead projects and be responsible for on-time and on budget completion.
  • Work closely with business & IT stakeholders to define required needs including leading development activities.
  • Lead business and functional resources in the creation of specifications and translate requirements into feasible technical specifications that fulfill the end-user requirements and align to business needs.
  • Document and communicate technical specifications to ensure that proper & optimized techniques, queries, data standards and final deliverables are understood.
  • Develop and maintain application development solutions, working closely with functional resources and other software engineers to create system processes that meet or exceed the needs of the business users.
  • Lead technical review and testing of solutions to ensure they are aligned with business needs and best practices; recommend actionable steps for improvements as needed
  • Monitor and make recommendations to optimize systems and tools which support available system functionality, server monitoring and performance.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related discipline from an accredited institution in the U.S. or a comparable foreign university
  • 5+ years experience in software development or an IT-related position
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience programming experience in C#/ASP.NET
  • Microsoft .NET framework is essential
  • Understanding of UI, cross-browser compatibility, general web functions and standards
  • Familiar with Code Repository Version Control tools (TFS, Git, CVS, PVCS, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of relational database design and development
  • Proficient at prioritizing tasks
  • Significant contributor to process improvements and development projects per assigned tasks and responsibilities.
  • Establish detailed program specifications based on solution requirements.
  • Collaborate with and mentor junior developers and/or contractors for coding practices, use of tools and code repositories, and proprietary or industry applications.
  • Work closely with IT leadership and business product owners to define required needs; take on larger leadership responsibilities for development activities.
  • Develop more complex programming activities on specific projects.
  • Able to focus on multiple activities at a time, depending on size
  • Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
  • Microsoft: ASP.NET WebForms, MVC 4/5, IIS 10 configuration, .NET Entity Framework
  • Web Tools: HTML5, AJAX, jQuery, JavaScript, CSS3, Bootstrap, HTML5, XML, SOAP & JSON
  • API : Web Services, WebAPI, Postman, any other API platforms
  • Microsoft SQL Server, SAP Hybris
  • Azure & AWS technologies/platforms
  • Web Security and PCI compliancy a plus
  • SharePoint experience is also a plus

 

Additional Skills:

  • Ability to establish relationships with technical and non-technical professionals
  • Ability to understand business needs and translate these needs into solutions
  • Good verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.  Effectively presents information to their team and department as needed.
  • Comprehends technical design specifications and possesses knowledge of development tools and technologies in support of the Information Technology Architecture.
