About the role


We are currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Quality Engineer to join our team based at our Deeside office, UK.

The role is responsible for maintaining the QA function in the Deeside factory and offices, maintaining approvals to ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and EN1090 via external audits.

Where relevant, it will also provide support to ensure that we maintain individual product approvals. 

You'll engage proactively with all stakeholders, ensuring that our Quality systems support and align with our products and services and that they meet the expectations of our customers at all times.

In addition, you'll maintain high standards of safety at the Deeside site, with the aim of continual improvement.


Main responsibilities


In this role you'll:


  • Maintain and audit the quality, health, safety and environmental management systems in accordance with ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001. Maintain the internal audit schedule for all systems and ensure timely close out of all non-conformances raised. 
  • Ensure all teams, production processes and products adhere to the appropriate QA standards via active liaison and face to face interaction
  • Engineer in Quality for all production processes through to finished product.
  • Set and maintain the final customer quality shipping standard.
  • Support manufacturing and design problem solving, demonstrating effective root cause analysis to close out quality concerns and sources of error. Take immediate containment actions and provide quick resolution to in process related quality problems and defects
  • Address and close out customer related complaints to prevent recurrence. Monitoring trends in customer complaints to ensure relevant improvements can be established
  • Maintain calibration of all essential checking and measuring equipment on site, ensuring it is fit for purpose and traceable to international calibration standards 
  • Assist in accident and near miss investigations, and help ensure that root causes are established and appropriate actions put in place to prevent recurrence


Experience & qualifications


To be successful in this role you'll need: 


  • Experience in working in the manufacturing sector in quality assurance
  • Experience and working knowledge of ISO9001:2015, ISO14001:2015 and ISO45001
  • A qualification in internal auditing
  • To be competent in MS Office suite.
  • The ability to work on multiple tasks and work cross-functionally to identify issues and implement solutions and improvements
  • Experience of RCFA techniques eg: “5 why”, “fishbone diagrams” etc
