Job Summary

 

The Plant Manager is the senior leader on site and is responsible for everything that goes on inside the fence-line and is the driver of the production process. We look to the Plant Manager to build a collaborative environment between operations, sales, engineering, accounting, and transportation. This dynamic leader will be promoting continuous improvement in workplace safety, production efficiency, product cost, and customer service.

  • This role will be on site at our facility in Devils Lake, ND.


Job Responsibilities


• Ensure the plant employees and guests on site comply with safety and environmental regulations – lead by example and build a safety first culture
• Manage day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant, including production scheduling, inventory management, and quality control.
• Responsible to actively seek out, find, and implement process improvements with the help of the Production Manager and Engineering. This is to include improvements on RM cost reduction, asset utilization, team balancing, automation, matching team strategy to situation
• Develop a keen focus on customer service and proactive communication across the team
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet production targets, resolve technical challenges, and drive cost-saving initiatives
• Development of the appropriate systems, policies and procedures to enable a competitive, disciplined and cost-effective manufacturing organization
• Successfully hire, supervise, orient, train and retain operations/product staff
• Promote and maintain a clean workplace that is “tour-ready” at all times
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track plant performance and make data-driven decisions
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize production processes and minimize waste.
• Oversee all molding processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.
• Lead and mentor a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Area Operations Manager as deemed appropriate and necessary by them

 

Job Requirements


• Bachelor's Degree in business, operations, engineering or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience working in a leadership role in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Experience with fiberglass and plastic production molding is a plus
• Proven track record of developing, leading and maintaining a continuous improvement mindset at the plant
• Familiarity with quality management systems, lean manufacturing principles, and safety regulations
• Ability to work with computer as necessary (Microsoft Office, ERP Systems)
• Ability to lead and direct other individuals and work with other group leaders
