Job Summary
Responsible for the operation of a section within the manufacturing function, supporting the Shift Supervisor in the day-to-day management of a specified area, overseeing a group of employees and ensuring efficient operation. Provides direction and support to the team, coordinating their workloads, monitors any issues, and ensures production targets are met. Assists in development of the team by focusing on performance and support requirements, while fostering a culture of safety.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure all safety guidelines are followed (i.e., PPE, plant cleanliness, clear work areas, etc.)
- Ensures team members follow definTeed SOP’s and comply with quality standards.
- Completes walk -around floor upon arrival, to participate in an effective shift hand-off.
- Carries out direction on performance and goals from the Shift Supervisor and Management team.
- Coordinates production schedule for each shift (ex. Cut length, color change and line change).
- Ensures proper training of Product Inspectors, and shares product expertise with the team.
- Has the ability to print bundle labels, and set up the router.
- Effectively manages PI and Forklift Driver Lunches and breaks.
- Ensure all personnel are performing all job duties assigned.
- Completes all required paperwork.
- Effectively ensures all personnel perform all job duties assigned.
- Holds people accountable and coaches’ employees while setting clear expectations.
- Communicates with Shift Supervisor on necessary corrective action for team members.
- Gives feedback to management to share ideas for process improvement.
- Is able to maintain shift when Shift Supervisor is out.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1-year supervisory experience with demonstrated progressive responsibility.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing/Distribution organization is preferred.
- On site QA certification, and forklift certification.
- Basic reading and math skills.
- Proficiency in basic business (Microsoft Office) Software
- Comfortable rolling up sleeves to learn and coach.
- Lift, push or pull up to 50 Lbs.
- Repetitive motion of the limbs
- Be able to Bend, twist, squat, and reach.
- Able to be comfortable in an excessively noise environment.
- May be expose to inclement weather excessive heat or excessive cold.
- This job operates solely in a factory setting. This role requires standing for long periods of time, walking the plant floor is necessary which is within a non-climate-controlled environment. This will require always wearing Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses or ear protectors.
