Position Overview
CRH Europe HR is currently recruiting for the position of Business Executive, based in the company headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, or Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO Europe) to help driving the regional HR strategy agenda. The nature of the role is outlined below.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Work with the CHRO to plan and execute HR initiatives that will benefit the company in the mid and long-term
- Work in conjunction with the Divisional teams, to deliver high quality information to support decision making by the CHRO and senior management
- Help the CHRO to prioritize their time and appointments
- Be responsive, act as gatekeeper, judge where CHRO’s input is most needed and other times manage on their behalf
- Think ahead to organise and structure how we manage the portfolio, plan for meetings and deliverables and catch problems before they arise
- Assist with the planning and execution of senior events including meetings and conferences and in particular manage the regular HRLT meeting agenda/follow up tit he meetings etc.
- Take notes during certain meetings and make sure that the action items from the meeting are executed.
- Executive Recruitment initiatives including but not limited to drafting job specs, liaising with recruitment firms, screening candidates, context setting and interview scheduling with key stakeholders, planning and executing onboarding strategy
- Build frameworks to plan and manage the continuous process of change including dependencies, risk, potential scenarios and options to mitigate
- Support the Talent and Reward CoEs with divisional initiatives and change agendas
- Be confident in data analysis, reporting and presentation preparation for CHRO and senior team members
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and leaders in the business
- Use experience, skills and knowledge of the HR industry to make an impact in key areas such as change management, organisational design, employee relationship
- Foster cross-functional relationships
- Support with the global HR budget allocation and management of annual budget process and expenses
- Manage external providers as they help deliver training and other targets
- Manage regional HR Communication plan including setting and organising of regional HR calls etc.
- Support Europe Leadership Team initiatives as they relate to HR and Talent
Key Characteristics
Flexibility is required within the role, which includes some core elements but also periodic emphasis on more project-type activities. Some level of travelling should be expected. The role is cross-Divisional and cross-functional with international exposure to other functions. The continued growth of the Division is anticipated to create opportunities for progression for the right individual.

Experience / Education
You are/have:
- Educated to a bachelor’s degree level preferably in a business or HR related subject;
- Successful track record as an HR or senior business role
- Solid track record in project/change management in an international setting
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills mandatory
