Position Overview
This Executive Assistant (EA) & Business Support role is critical to the effectiveness of the CRH International Chief Information Officer and the broader Technology leadership team during a period of significant transformation.
CRH International Technology is on a significant transformation journey, with the function evolving rapidly over the past two years. The team has shifted from a primarily operational support model to a more strategic, value-driven technology organisation—focused on enabling growth, strengthening cyber resilience, modernising core platforms, and embedding digital and data capabilities across the business. This evolution has increased the pace, complexity, and senior-level engagement across the function, requiring strong orchestration, governance, and operational discipline to effectively support technology leadership and the wider organisation.
Operating as a trusted partner to the CRH International CIO, this position requires strong interpersonal skills, team play, and a people-focused approach, supporting a fast-paced engagement, alignment, execution, and delivery.
A strong focus on getting results, getting things done, the ability to pick things up and drive them to completion, with a strong focus on preparation, outputs, materials, content and the development of submission-ready documentation, PowerPoint presentations, and related reports.
A warm, friendly, respectful and people-first approach is key, with a sense of humour.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Executive Assistance & Business Support
- Executive‑Ready Materials & Outputs: Develop, draft, and coordinate high‑quality, executive‑ready materials on behalf of the CIO, including presentations, briefing packs, reports, correspondence, and talking points for senior leadership, International Leadership Team, and external stakeholder engagements. Ensure all outputs are clear, concise, accurate, and aligned to CRH standards, narrative, and messaging.
- Executive Preparation: Proactively support the CIO’s preparation for key meetings, reviews, and forums by collating inputs, coordinating contributions, and producing structured, decision‑focused materials that enable effective discussion and outcomes.
- Calendar & Inbox Management: Proactively manage complex diaries and inboxes across multiple time zones, prioritising critical engagements, resolving conflicts, and ensuring effective use of executive time.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Orchestrate senior‑level meetings, leadership sessions, and external engagements, ensuring agendas, pre‑reads, materials, and logistics are prepared to an executive standard.
- Travel & Logistics: Coordinate end‑to‑end domestic and international travel, including flights, accommodation, visas, itineraries, and contingency planning, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruption.
- Confidentiality & Discretion: Handle highly sensitive information with discretion and professionalism, acting as a trusted extension of the CIO in both internal and external interactions.
Business & Operational Support
- Meeting & Event Management: Coordinate and support team meetings, internal technology community forums, leadership sessions, and offsites, including agenda preparation, logistics, and minute-taking.
- Financial Administration: Manage executive expenses, purchasing card reconciliations, and track budgets for team engagement or recognition activities.
- Office & Team Coordination: Oversee day-to-day office operations, act as a liaison with service providers, and support team coordination activities.
- Governance Support: Administer board or leadership portals, ensure compliance with internal policies, and support preparation of reports and governance materials.
Skills & Experience
- Experience: Typically 3–5+ years in a senior administrative or EA role, often within a fast-paced corporate and highly federated operating environment. Strong attention to detail and background in design and development outputs preferred.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with collaboration tools, and ability to take ideas and create outputs and materials.
- Prioritisation: Ability to manage multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
- Discretion: Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Adaptability: Proactive, resilient, and able to operate independently in a dynamic environment.
