Position Overview
CRH is currently recruiting for a talented tax professional to join the Group Tax Team based in the Group’s international headquarters in Stonemason’s Way, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16.
The Group Tax Team provides support to CRH’s executive team and Board and Divisional management by ensuring the Group’s tax affairs are proactively managed in an acceptable and appropriate manner. The successful candidate will:

  • develop a deep understanding of all aspects of corporate income tax in a large, complex and dynamic organisation and will have exposure to various teams across the global CRH Group;
  • have the opportunity to contribute to global tax strategy in CRH, work with senior business leaders and develop a successful career in the organisation;
  • be proactive, have an eye for detail and be willing to work to ensure complex projects are delivered on time and to a high standard; and
  • be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner to senior management.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
In this role, you will be:

  • An integral part of the Group’s external tax reporting processes for quarterly and year-end reporting in the consolidated accounts;
  • Assisting with the internal tax reporting processes, including forward planning as part of the annual tax forecasting and budgeting;
  • A key component of the internal risk framework. Monitoring and ensuring compliance with the Group SOX and internal controls from a tax risk perspective;
  • Assisting with the development of and updates to the tax strategy, tax policy and procedures for the Group;
  • Driving process improvements and identifying opportunities to utilise tax technology solutions. Assisting with the development and implementation of the tax technology roadmap for the Group;
  • Presenting to various senior stakeholders on tax reporting matters;
  • Developing and updating tax reporting guidelines on current and deferred tax for the Group;
  • Researching tax accounting technical matters and keeping up to date with the tax impact of new IFRS & US GAAP developments;
  • Liaising regularly with key business stakeholders across the Group and with other members of the CRH Global Tax Team;
  • Involved in other ad hoc tax planning projects as required.

Experience / Education
You are/have:

  • Strong academic background with professional accounting qualification. Tax qualifications an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years post qualification experience
  • US GAAP Tax accounting experience ideally required
