We have an exciting opportunity to lead a team within our highly respected Reporting & Performance Analysis (“R&PA”) function, overseeing the external messaging and financial planning & analysis (FP&A) for one of CRH’s Divisions. This will involve working closely with senior stakeholders across a range of teams in CRH Group, CRH Divisional offices and the operations to provide insightful business performance analysis for executive and external consumption.
The R&PA team which forms part of the CRH Group Finance function, is a high performing team and a valued business partner that leads a number of key internal and external reporting processes. This includes monthly Board and management reporting, financial planning and analysis, forecast and annual Budget; the team also prepares quarterly briefing materials to support external results announcements and business performance related sections of the 10-Q/10-K. The wider R&PA team is divided up into two sub teams, Reporting and FP&A, each of which has ownership for specific processes and deliverables and is the central liaison for the Divisions.
This role is a manager position on the FP&A sub team. The FP&A team is responsible for:
- Quarterly briefing materials to support investor relations and senior executives for external announcements and publications. Liaising with the Divisions to understand the key drivers of performance.
- Draft external trading announcements for market consumption on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Ownership of the Business Overview and Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) sections of the 10K/10Q.
- Lead the Group Forecast process through understanding of business performance metrics and market expectations. Close collaboration with Divisional Finance teams and wider Group Finance functions to provide predictive analysis on forecast scenarios.
- Provision of high-quality and timely ad-hoc analysis to Senior Management and business partners.
- Hybrid working at present, with the team ordinarily based at Group HQ in Stonemasons Way, Dublin.
FP&A Manager; Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for briefing materials and draft external trading announcements for Senior Management and Investor Relations, at quarter and year end, providing key information on drivers of performance
- Compilation and review of the MD&A/Business overview of Form 10-K/Form 10-Qs in compliance with United States SEC reporting requirement
- Build strong relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant information for financial analysis. In particular, work closely with Divisions to support CRH external communications around messaging & narrative – the story and drivers behind the numbers
- Liaison with Investor Relations – involving the analysis, validation and provision of key information to the Investor Relations team and Senior Executives throughout the year
- Model forecast scenarios and track performance metrics – provide predictive analysis on further forecast scenarios and market expectations
- Analysis of economic, industry and peer information for trend and comparison analysis
- Provide high quality ad hoc analysis to Senior Management as requested to support decision making
- Lead and coach the team to assist in the delivery of responsibilities and develop team members as required
- Focus on continuous improvements in all processes and outputs to add value and drive business results
Your Key Attributes/Competencies:
- Strong financial and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral, ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner to Senior Management
- Strong motivation and a high degree of initiative with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, and commercial environment
- Self-confident with strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to liaise with Executive Management
- Organizational skills to manage multiple deliverables and use decision-making capabilities and judgement to prioritize
- Enjoy building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
- Demonstrated track record of relevant management skills
Your Educational Background and Experience:
- Professional qualification (ACA or equivalent), with 8 years PQE
- Experience in management or financial reporting. Financial Planning & Analysis experience an advantage
- Exposure to Group reporting structures, processes and external communication requirements that are involved
- Experience with Hyperion systems would be an advantage
- Experience in leading and building a high performing and inclusive team
- Modelling skills and experience would be advantageous
