Financial Reporting Team:

  • High performing, world class Group Finance function responsible for the delivery of best-in-class financial reporting; 
  • Valued and respected by internal partners, the Board, and external investors;
  • Overall responsibility for the preparation and management of the external SEC financial reporting cycles (Form 10-K and Quarterly Form 10-Qs), supporting CRH’s U.S. listing and the external IFRS financial reporting cycles (Annual Report), supporting CRH’s Irish & UK status; 
  • Drives the implementation and management of best practice financial reporting across the group (CRH was the repeat Overall Winner of the 2023 Chartered Accountants Leinster Society Published Accounts Awards, in addition to winning the ‘Euronext Dublin (Large Cap > €1bn)’ Award category); and
  • Acts as a key business partner for CRH’s c.3,390 operating locations in 28 countries worldwide. 

 

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a highly respected team within the Group Finance function at a particularly important time for CRH, following the Group’s transition of its primary listing to the New York Stock Exchange (‘NYSE’). The role of the Financial Reporting team is varied in nature with numerous internal and external stakeholders. 
The team continuously strives to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies and there is a continued focus on more project-type activities which vary from time to time, recent examples include new system implementations, automation projects, change in reporting currency project and projects relating to the implementation of new U.S. SEC disclosure requirements.

 

A priority project for the team during 2024 centres around continuing to implement the new U.S GAAP environment following the Group’s transition to a primary NYSE listing and the related SEC reporting requirements and go forward IFRS Irish & UK reporting requirements. This provides significant opportunities for the team for both cross-Divisional international exposure as well as frequent collaboration with other Group functions.
The Financial Reporting team is responsible for supporting any newly acquired businesses with the Group’s external reporting requirements; which through the delivery of training programmes and attendance at site visits provides an exceptional opportunity to both travel and become a key business partner. 

 

Outside of the external reporting cycles, the team is responsible for a variety of areas including; being a key business partner to the Divisional Finance teams on relevant reporting issues, as well as the preparation and review of Board and Audit Committee deliverables, overseeing the continued development and optimisation of the financial consolidation and reporting systems across the Group and maintaining and developing the global external audit relationship.

The successful candidate will gain a comprehensive understanding of the processes underlying the production of financial information and the delivery of best-in-class external reporting for a global public company. 

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of the Group’s U.S. GAAP/IFRS Consolidated Financial Statements in a multinational multi-currency environment to strict external reporting deadlines.
  • Preparation of the Form 10-K/Form 10-Qs in compliance with United States SEC reporting requirements and the Group’s IFRS Annual Report in compliance with Irish/UK reporting requirements.
  • Continuously strive to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiencies in the external reporting processes.
  • Involved in the preparation of Board and Audit Committee deliverables including annual and quarterly results, audit deliverables and regulatory developments.
  • Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders including year-round interaction with the Group auditors and other external specialists.
  • Supporting newly acquired businesses with the Group’s external reporting requirements.
  • Involvement in the development and implementation of financial reporting systems across the Group.
  • Involvement in a variety of ad-hoc projects including process improvement initiatives.

Experience / Education
You are/have:

  • 5+ years experience in a similar role
  • Financial accounting background essential – group consolidation experience is highly preferable.
  • Accounting qualification with a good working knowledge of financial reporting processes.
  • Experience or an interest in financial reporting systems would be beneficial.
