Position Overview

The CRH Group Treasury primary location is in Dublin with a smaller team in Atlanta in The United States. Group Treasury is responsible for key Group Finance functions such as Debt Capital Markets, Strategic projects, Treasury Operations and Treasury Technology. We continue to grow and expand. A vacancy has arisen within the Treasury Operations team for a Senior Treasury Analyst to join this highly successful team. The Group Treasury team is based alongside the Europe Treasury team in the CRH’s head office in Stonemason’s Way, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16. Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate will be required on-site initially for training and thereafter working arrangements under our group hybrid policy.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will become a valuable member of the existing  Treasury Operations team where the below tasks and responsibilities will be performed as part of the treasury operations team:

 

Cash Management & Investment

  • Management of multi-currency cash pools within the group;
  • This role also involves the review of bank cash balance monitoring reports of other cash held throughout the group and;
  • Prudently manage excess liquidity in a variety of currencies through the use of investment products such as deposits and other investment products.


Short Term Debt Issuance and Management

  • Evaluate our commercial paper pricing within the markets and issue commercial paper to target levels of liquidity to meet seasonal liquidity requirements and adapt those decisions to meet other liquidity requirements as they arise.
  • Engage with our issuing banks on market liquidity and pricing evolution.


Foreign Exchange Risk Management & Commodities Execution

  • Evaluate and execute foreign exchange transactions in the spot, forward and swap markets.
  • Engage with our counterparty banks on current topics as they arise in response to current needs.
  • Execute commodity swaps following engagement with operating companies and group procurement.


Other Treasury Risk Management

  • Counterparty risk monitoring, management and reporting to senior management and the Group Treasurer.
  • Performing controls to monitor and report on the daily Treasury activities and processes.
  • Manage the operational processes in conjunction with the Strategic projects team on administration of internal funding arrangements.
  • Responsibility for the Treasury payments processing through the company’s payment systems and banking portals.
  • Reviewing and reporting daily on Net Debt and Interest costs and other reporting on an ad hoc basis as required on Treasury activities, processes.

 

Other Areas of Treasury

  • Monthly KPI reporting to senior management and assisting/training of junior team members in the production of as required.
  • Supporting various projects and initiatives in treasury operations (design, implementation and identification of process improvements).
  • Supporting the team through various SOX requirements, systems audits, internal and external audits throughout the year.
  • Attendance at bank meetings to engage with and enhance our trading relationships.

 

Experience / Education

  • University degree in accounting/finance or professional accounting / treasury qualification (preferred)
  • A minimum of 3+ years post qualification experience.
  • Must be professionally minded, motivated and a self-starter keen to make a strong contribution to the Treasury team as a function within the Group Treasury department.
  • Ability to prioritize your tasks as part of a team plan and work to deadlines on a daily basis.
  • Can learn and apply controls and processes within tasks and systems.
  • Can understand complex situations and processes and explain them simply to senior management.
  • Work with people across internal functions, external banking relationship and Treasury system providers.
  • Sees opportunities and appreciates a drive for continuous improvement and best practices.
