Reporting to the End User Support Services IT Team Lead, the Service Delivery Support Engineer for IT Hardware is responsible for supporting the delivery and ongoing management of all core IT hardware including laptops, mobiles, consumables e.g., monitors etc.  This role will support the life-cycle management of IT assets throughout the organisation. The role is also required to update an asset inventory database. This is a role that will assist the End User Services Manager with asset management and related processes. The role may also include planning and scheduling activities.

 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supporting New Starters account creation and Leaver’s account suspension/deletion (including AD Account, Email Account, Group Membership etc).
  • Support with Joiner, Movers & Leaver process and ensuring each staff member has the appropriate IT equipment to work effectively.
  • Support Desktop/Laptop patching when required.
  • Manage asset lifecycles, developing and maintaining the asset inventory database.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of policies, standards, processes, systems and measurements that enable the organization to manage the IS asset portfolio for risk, cost, control, and compliance and business performance objectives.
  • Work with all departments in the procurement, deployment, management and expense reporting of IT assets.
  • Escalate supplier issues to their manager.
  • Support the disposal of IT hardware assets (Laptops, Mobiles etc.) including securing the disposal certificates.
  • Support the quarterly treasury laptop rotation for security reasons - laptops are reimaged and updated with latest security stack.
  • Assist with VC systems including desk-based VC platform & secure call set up
  • Conduct daily meeting room checks - checking all IT equipment in meeting rooms are working correctly on a daily basis.

 

Key Functional Competencies 

  • Minimum 1 - 2 years’ experience working on large IT Asset management initiatives. 
  • Experience providing direct technical support to end users via telephone or e-mail to troubleshoot problems in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Experience logging incoming calls in an Incident Management tool and resolving and / or escalating calls as required.
  • Customer service skills to manage interactions with demand manager but also with a wide array of other customers if required (executives, associates, etc.).
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong documentation skills and keen attention to detail.
     

Experience / Education
You are/have:

  • Third level qualification in Information Technology or equivalent
  • CompTIA A+/Network+ 
  • ITIL Certification
  • Fluent written and verbal English (must); other languages are considered a plus
