Job Summary

 

We build precast concrete products year round inside our plant. Our employees typically work Monday through Friday with some Saturdays and overtime. This position is responsible for the dispatch function, coordinating with the sales department, shipping, receiving, customer, delivery truck services and the logistics operations.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist the Plant Manager in performing all tasks necessary to ensure that all vehicles and drivers are safe and in compliance with all legal and regulatory agencies
  • Responsible for tracking and receiving all incoming and outgoing materials and properly accounting for them.
  • Responsible for purchasing standard items for production.
  • Work with yard crew for loading sequence and yard layout.
  • Work closely with the production team to determine items ready for delivery
  • Coordinate daily delivery schedules based on sale’s request for product and product availability
  • Prepares weekly schedule for loading and shipment volumes and proactively communicates plan externally to customers and internally with production teams
  • Adjusts schedule, as needed, to accommodate customer needs
  • Review and research new and existing transportation vendors; programs to reduce, replace and improve upon transportation costs. Manages outside haulers and all logistics.
  • Inspect all loads as a last and final check
  • Maintain vehicle maintenance and records on the TSC website
  • Handle large volumes of phone calls in a timely manner while making accurate and precise decisions regarding prioritizing shipment pickups, deliveries, maintenance, etc.
  • Resolves production schedule conflicts prior to shipment, ensuring on-time, error-free shipment and invoicing
  • Ensures safety practices are being enforced and completes Behavioral Based Safety Observations
  • Actively participates in training and development
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

 

 

Requirements/Skills

 

  • High school diploma / equivalent
  • Must have experience in the field or a related area, at least 3 years is preferred
  • Hard working and comfortable with a dirty/dusty work environment
  • Must have forklift experience
  • Computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work under limited supervision
  • Occasional overtime is required
