Description

 

Anchor, a CRH company. is seeking a Forklift Mechanic who reports to the Maintenance Manager.  It is this technician's responsibility to ensure that all scheduled and unexpected Material Handling Equipment maintenance tasks be completed in an efficient and timely manner.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain and repair diesel Forklifts and Scissor Lifts, etc.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance for company material handling equipment including; oil changes, telescopic masts, steering and suspension.
  • Communicate issues to management.
  • Operate and troubleshoot diagnostic equipment.
  • Record details of repairs made and parts used.
  • Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, test operation and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports and confirm with operators to locate and diagnose malfunctions.
  • Dismantle defective forklift parts for repair using hand tools.
  • Test and replace electrical components and wiring using test meters.
  • Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools.
  • Clean and lubricate parts.
  • Tune engines.

 

Requirements

 

  • At least 4 years of forklift mechanic experience; repairing and/or maintaining electrical & propane forklifts.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) a plus.
  • Excellent attendance and dependability.
  • Flexible and adaptable by nature, with ability to work a flexible weekly schedule that includes overtime on occasion.
  • Qualified candidates must have their own hand tools and qualify for forklift license.
