Job Summary

 

The Quality Control Technician establishes and manages systems to ensure raw materials, products and processes meet Inwesco quality standards and customer expectations. Spends 80% of time actively involved on the production floor.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Manages product performance load testing according to specifications to approve production startup and generating test reports for compliance

  • Manages floor process audits and product inspections and ensures they are completed and compile scores and failure reasons and work with Production and Engineering to implement materials/mold/process improvements

  • Manages the incoming testing of raw materials and reviews data for trends and improvements and communicates variations and works with Materials Engineering for improvements

  • Track scrap and % defective reason data and work with Production and Engineering to troubleshoot and find solutions and improvements to processes, documentation and machines

  • Key driver in writing and maintaining Corrective Action & Preventive Action reports for the plant with root-cause identification efforts using the following: (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEAs and Control plans)

  • Translate QA manual requirements into standard work processes and procedures and ensure the QA department carries out these tasks

  • Manage plant calibrations and ensure all measuring equipment and inspection tools including scales, load cells, calipers, heat guns, Go no/go gauges are in tolerance

  • Other responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

 

Job Requirements

 

  • High School or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment, or quality background

  • At least 5 years of quality experience

  • Strong attention to detail and good communication skills

  • Computer (Microsoft Office) and math skills 

  • Good time management skills

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the day
