Job Summary

 

The CNC Programmer is responsible for entering all custom patterns into the AutoCAD system for production as well as interpreting and entering sketches to be produced by our CNC operators. Assist and support other team members within the department to include cross training with other positions.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for entering all custom patterns into the system for production
  • Interpret and enter sketches to be produced by our CNC operators
  • Operate computer-aided design (CAD) system
  • Regular and predictable attendance, safely performing tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job

 

Requirements

 

  • HS Diploma or GED; Associates Degree or above preferred
  • Auto-CAD (2005 or later) Training Certificate or two years of verified work experience from previous employer(s)
  • Must possess the ability to read & interpret contract drawings and customer sketches as well as ability to create and modify drawings in CAD/CAM software
  • Must have a high mathematic and logical aptitude, especially with fractions and decimals as a unit of measure (millimeters and inches)
  • Accuracy in data entry
  • Strong customer service skills, organizational skills self-motivation, and the ability to multitask and work independently
  • Self-starter, motivated with ability to start and finish a project on time
  • Must be highly detail-oriented and have the ability to solve problems with little guidance

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Ability to squat, crouch,  bend, twist, lift, pull, reach, and walk every day throughout a shift
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds

 

Work Environment

 

  • Standard office environment
  • Sitting and using computer for extended periods of time
  • Some exposure to plant shop floor conditions while on the plant floor include heat generated from tempering ovens, material odors, and other airborne items present in the air within acceptable OSHA levels
