SUMMARY

Provides support to the Columbus Limestone Plant by assisting in any way possible in regards to clerical duties, phone calls, planning events, and organization of the schedule/filing system, etc.  The individual must maintain a high standard of confidentiality, be extremely organized, detail oriented, outgoing, highly assertive, and make decisions independently when necessary.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The criteria for evaluation in this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Type letters, memorandums, spreadsheets, or other documents for Management.
  • Helps to maintain high standard of office appearance and operation including coordinating with vendors on building and office equipment maintenance.
  • Assist with and complete all required reporting as directed by Management.
  • Assist in coordinating, special events, etc. in conjunction with Management and other Regional personnel.
  • Coordinate special projects as necessary.
  • Maintain and assist with filing system.
  • Assisting with sales operations.
  • Performs general office duties.
  • Assists and provides information for company newsletter submission.
  • Maintain good communications with all personnel.
  • Ability to perform multi-tasks in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and set priorities.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
  • Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.
  • Strict adherence to The Shelly Company Manual of Safety Practices & Procedures.
  • Strict adherence to The Shelly Company policies and procedures as outlined in the book of company policies.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Shelly Company employees. Employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Individuals must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations, using some combination of skills and abilities.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Three to five years related experience and/or training preferred.

 

ANALYTICAL SKILLS:

Individual must possess the ability to analyze data and draw conclusions.  Attention to detail and presentation of the work product to a high standard is required.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

Individual must possess a questioning mind and the ability to think independently.  Ability to challenge situations in a constructive manner and present reasonable alternatives.  Must possess superior problem solving skills:  ability to identify and investigate potential problems.

 

PC/COMPUTER SKILLS:

Individual must possess strong computer skills and be proficient with Windows, Excel, Word, and Powerpoint.
