Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Provides timely response to customer’s job quotes.
  • Enters job orders as required in the system with high accuracy rate.  
  • Provides the customer with a single Point of Contact from job quote to job completeness.
  • Provides technical support to the customer as it relates to our product.
  • Provides correct and timely quotes to customers via email, phone or fax.  
  • Follows up on quotes to increase sales.
  • Verifies customer orders prior to data entry, ensuring correctness and completeness.
  • Provides correct and timely responses to customer orders via email, fax and or phone call.
  • Tracks orders and updates customer and management on status.
  • Ensures orders are shipped on time.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements

 

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical equations in geometry. 
  • Ability to read shop and architectural drawings.
  • Good verbal and written skills  
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, ability to work independently and prioritize work, problem solving abilities.
  • Computer knowledge (Microsoft office, data base systems, spreadsheets and basic drafting knowledge  
  • Able to use common sense and good judgement
  • Able to function in a team environment
  • 3+ years’ experience in Customer Service, preferably in Glass Manufacturing, or construction field in Customer Service Sales or Installation 

 

Equipment

 

Standard office environment as such but not limited to: Laptop or desktop computer, copiers, scanner, telephone, fax, calculator, and printers

 

Safety

 

  • Follow plant safety procedures when in home or customer plant facility including wearing necessary safety equipment while out on the plant floor.  PPE always required while on the production floor.  
  • In addition, when handling glass, sleeves or tuff n lite are required as well as steel toed boots.    

 

Work Environment

 

Work performed mainly in office environment where temperature is controlled.  However, exposure to a production environment can occur for which may be subject to:

  • Various types of weather, traffic, and road conditions
  • Normal climate conditions of the region will also be present such as humidity, heat, and cold.  
  • Noise levels in the work environment (in truck or plant facility) can be moderate to high.
  • Plant facility environment is subject to unusually warm temperatures during the summer months due to the heat generated by the glass tempering furnaces
  • Inside the plant facility, odors from glass cleaning, sealants, and other products are within acceptable levels, they nevertheless, can be smelled.  Dust, pollen and other typical airborne particulate matter are also present in the atmosphere.
