Position Overview

This is a skilled position where the Human Resources Administrator will facilitate and provide a variety of timely services for company employees, applicants and management staff. The ideal candidate will work with the Human Resources Manager to maximize the utilization of the HR component of the organization by being a motivated, thoughtful, results-oriented, selfstarter in a fast paced and ever changing environment. Must be a person who can multi-task and problem solve. The ability to build and maintain trust-based collaborative relationships maintaining professional demeanor in dealing with confidential information; restricting discussion/knowledge of activity to a "need to know" basis.


Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Assists HR Manager with salaried exempt, salaried non-exempt and hourly hiring process, including composition of job descriptions, offer letters and evaluating candidates 
  • Assist managers by posting jobs and maintain/update these records on SuccessFactors data base
  • Assist scheduling and conducting interviews with supervisors.
  • Conduct and organize employee new hire and benefits orientation as needed.
  • Timely employee file and record management, which can include tracking employee information, compensation, benefits, tax, training, disciplinary actions, and termination data.
  • Maintain, organize, and monitor confidential employee information.
  • Update unemployment data and provide verifications of employment when required
  • Assist with health and welfare, FMLA, STD, 401k, and other employee benefits administration.
  • Update employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses.
  • Administer/Coordinate pre-employment requirements, I-9, drug testing, background screening and other human resource processes.
  • Generate, create, and maintain various reports as requested.
  • Assist with the coordination of employee training
  • Assist with coordinating company events and meetings as required
  • Answer phone calls and assist employees and the public with issues and questions related to HR, Payroll, Benefits, and other employment issues.
  • Assists with other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Must be able and willing to travel to site locations occasionally with some overnight/out of town meetings/training events.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree GED required.
  • Two years previous HR experience preferred or related customer service and/or office experience required.
  • Experience in a construction environment preferred but not required
  • Must pass pre-employment criminal background and drug test

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
  • Ability to work with little supervision when required.
  • Ability to do basic math.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Full Time Schedule general work time is from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday thru Friday.
  • Must be available for occasional overtime as required
  • Availability to work on special company events held on weekends occasionally
  • A valid driver’s license 
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Excellent communications skills

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move boxes/files up to 25 lbs.  Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth and the ability to adjust focus. Employee is frequently sitting and standing for extended periods of time.


Work Environment
