Are you a skilled mechanic who takes pride in solving complex mechanical problems and keeping equipment operating at peak performance? We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team and play a critical role in maintaining the equipment that powers our construction operations.

In this hands-on position, you'll work on a diverse fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and construction machinery, diagnosing issues, completing repairs, and helping ensure safe, reliable operations across our jobsites. What You'll Do

  • Diagnose, maintain, repair, and rebuild heavy construction equipment, on-road trucks, mixers, dump trucks, and related machinery.
  • Troubleshoot diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, transmissions, and drivetrains.
  • Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and field repairs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance.
  • Operate a service truck to travel to jobsites and perform remote diagnostics and repairs when needed.
  • Repair or replace components including pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, pistons, gears, seals, and other mechanical assemblies.
  • Rebuild major components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air brake systems, A/C systems, and drive assemblies.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment electrical systems, including lighting, ignition, and instrumentation.
  • Fabricate, modify, and assemble mechanical components to improve equipment functionality and performance.
  • Conduct operational testing and inspections to verify repairs and evaluate equipment performance.
  • Work closely with supervisors and team members to identify effective repair solutions and maintain fleet reliability.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout requirements and DOT regulations.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience maintaining and repairing heavy equipment, trucks, or construction machinery.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to diagnose issues accurately and perform repairs efficiently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable using smartphones and basic computer applications for work-related tasks.
  • Valid driver's license that meets company requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical school certification or related vocational training.
  • Previous experience in heavy equipment, truck, or construction equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus.

What You'll Need

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings, including DOT physical and drug testing.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends when business needs require.
  • Ability to provide and maintain the tools necessary to perform mechanic duties.
  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and exceptional work ethic.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, lifting, and working around heavy equipment in varying weather conditions. Candidates must be able to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and work safely in environments that may include noise, vibration, dust, and moving mechanical equipment.
