About the role 

We are currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Dutch or French speaking HSE coordinator to join our HSE team at our Belgium office in Londerzeel, with occasional home working after 6 months service.
 
Main responsibilities 

 

In this role you’ll: 

 

  • Support the management, plant managers and all other members of the hierarchical safety line, in compliance with the Royal Decree on safety policy and also carry out the required tasks as outlined in the Royal Decree, relating to the internal service for prevention and protection at work and ensure compliance with all other regulatory agencies and standards. 
  •  Continuously review and adjust safety procedures and policies for the benefit of employees and customers, in line with CRH guidelines and implement these guidelines and processes at your designated locations. 
  •  Participate in the preparation of the annual safety action plan and global prevention plan and ensure its correct implementation. 
  •  Ensure timely and accurate preparation of accident reports (including near misses and safety observations) and implement and monitor measures to correct these. 
  •  Develop, monitor and implement training and other leading safety activities for employees. 
  •  Maintain safety as the number priority for every employee. 
  •  Be responsible for monthly safety reporting to CRH, in line with agreed KPI's).  
  •  Develop quality awareness within Leviat Londerzeel. 
  •  Implement, report and evaluate inspections together with QA processes. 
  •  Participate in complaint investigations and implement preventive measures. 
  • Ensure our environmental policy is up to date in conjunction with the external environmental coordinator. 
  • Follow-up on statutory inspections and controls. 
  • Provide regular safety reports to both CRH and the government. 

 
Experience & qualifications 
 

To be successful in this role you’ll need: 

 

  • A fluency in either Dutch or French (supported by a knowledge of English is desirable) 
  • To be safety minded, believe in zero accidents and view safety as a "way of life". 
  • Demonstrable leadership and communication skills 
  • Technical skills that enable you to have a detailed overview of production and maintenance processes 
  • To be an enthusiastic team player 
  • An analytical insight and problem-solving ability 
  • A developed attention to detail, particularly in relation to reporting 
  • To be resilient and able to advance your safety agenda, overcoming any issues as and when required 
  • A good understanding of MS Office. 
  • Ideally a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. 
  • Certified Prevention Advisor Level 2. 
  • Demonstrable HSE experience in a production environment.
