About the role

 

We are currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Technical Business Manager (Helifix), based at our office in Brentford, Greater London.

The role will be ‘Hands on’ and extremely varied and is best suited to an Engineer that would like to broaden their experience into structural masonry rehabilitation, dealing with structures varying in age from 1 to 500 years old, and support the sales team within Helifix, selling market-leading Stainless Steel construction accessories.

 

Main responsibilities

 

In this role you'll:

 

  • Support the external team of Helifix Technical Area Managers in remedial masonry surveys and on site testing.
  • Become a senior member of the team providing Approved Installer Surveyor Training on a residential 2 day course, along with continued training / support of the contracting companies throughout their membership of the Approved Installer scheme.
  • Undertake Masonry Beam and Panel designs.
  • Prepare engineering judgment based project remedial schemes and assess the validity of schemes proposed by External Staff and Network of Approved Installers.
  • Work with the Helifix Structural Engineers to maintain the Helifix Warranty Scheme and Insurance.
  • Liaise with contracted external Consultants.
  • Deliver professional CPD Presentations to Engineers 
  • Liaise with major Main Contractors / Specifiers on the specification of Masonry Accessories. 
  • Deliver technical and sales support/training for overseas opportunities.

 

Experience & qualifications

 

To be successful in this role you'll need:

 

  • To have a background as a Civil / Structural Engineer, with developed technical sales/commercial engineering/contractor engineering experience.
  • An accredited degree in Civil / Structural Engineering (Possible Geotechnical/Piling degree)
  • An eagerness to learn the nuances of masonry defect diagnosis.
  • Experience in masonry repairs/piling design is desirable
  • Good presentation and communication skills.
  • To be proficient in recording and reporting information, preparing specifications and designs.
