Job Summary

The Customer Service Senior position is responsible for ensuring Tech Sales and Key customers receive superior customer services by addressing phone and e-mail inquiries, providing updates on lead times and pending orders. Also, this position works closely with our Corporate Salesman to ensure our key customers are responded to in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible to respond to our largest accounts and distributors within a timely manner
  • Team Supervisor may assign e-mail responses from customers to assist and the team supervisor may provide verbal instructions
  • Manage and respond to customers who have e-mailed inquiries to Key Accounts
  • Answer and assist customers who call into the Tech Sales/ Key Accounts phone split
  • Work with Manufacturing to provide updated lead times on pending orders from 38th and 55th street
  • Provide customers with updated lead times on manufactured and standard orders when customers inquire on pending orders  
  • Work with our Corporate Salesman when assistance is needed with a customer
  • Work with AH / RH / OP technical estimators when assistance is needed with a customer
  • Assist customers with everyday questions such as stock check/pricing and technical questions pertaining to the Architectural, Railing and Partition Product Groups
  • Assist with product returns/shortage/tracers
  • Assist customers when any Spec Data or specific product information are needed for Project Submittals 
  • Assist customers with their CRL deliveries and Will Call pick up inquires
  • Work with Los Angeles shipping department if needed with local Customers
  • Provide sample finishes on Large Projects     
  • Assist on expediting orders when needed
  • Work with technical product brands when assistance is needing on getting any pending customer quotes completed or revised
  • Provide customers with completed quotes
  • Enter quote requests to be assigned to the technical department
  • Place customer orders 
  • Update IQ49 contacts when needed on the account
  • Review and respond to P&C’s for customers inquiries
  • Participate in educational opportunities internally and externally to enhance knowledge of product and job skills
  • Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job.
  • Provide assistance to all co-workers when needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements

To be considered for the Customer Service SR. Representative position, the following conditions must be met:

  • Preferred method to work in CRL Customer Service Department for a minimum of 6 months
  • A minimum of 1-year previous customer service experience; glass industry preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred
  • Strong organizational and listening skills
  • Ability to work overtime if required
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment to meet required deadlines
  • Utilizes strong time management and organizational skills to successfully multi-task
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and conduct themselves professionally, with excellent written and verbal communications
  • Able to read and perform mathematical calculations, and write measurements in number fractions at a high school education level
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand drawings and specifications
  • Computer experience a must and typing of numbers with accuracy

Equipment

  • Personal desktop computers, fax machine, copy machine, calculator, writing instruments, telephone, and various printers. 
  • Issued safety equipment

Safety

 

  • This position is largely sedentary; however, caution needs to be taken when lifting files, boxes, opening file cabinet drawers, desk drawers.
  • To avoid injuries to hands, back and neck, proper ergonomics should be maintained while working at desk/workstation.

Work Environment

 

  • Primarily works in an office environment with controlled climate.
  • Ability to perform light hand activity work at a computer/telephone station in an office environment. Position is primarily sedentary.
  • Some duties may involve being in a plant environment where noise levels can be moderate to high and be subject to the same general climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.). 
  • Chemicals, dust, pollen and other typical airborne particulate matter are present within the atmosphere of the production floor and may create some odors in the plant. The Company, in an effort to provide its employees with a safe and healthy working environment, limits exposure to chemicals through written procedures, engineering controls and PPE.
  • While the chemical exposure and odors are under acceptable levels set by OSHA and the WCB, they nevertheless, can be smelled and are handled according to the company’s hazardous communication program.
