About the Position:


The (PGS) Key Account Manager is responsible for providing quotes to Key Account Customer and converting quotes to orders with the understanding of CRL’s Business Development and Sales. You’re expected to cultivate to your assigned Key Accounts, providing support to meet all customer Service Level Agreement expectations. This position must understand all CRL products, as well as CRL quote programs/configurators. Furthermore, this position will be overseeing the relationships of CRL with its most important clients. You will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining long term key customers by comprehending their requirements.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Develop and expand the relationships with the Key Accounts Clients bringing in new clients.
  • Resolving Key Account Clients issues and concerns.
  • Acquiring a thorough understanding of Key Account Client needs and requirements
  • Personalized experiences for Key Account by understanding their team, products, goals, competitor, market.
  • Maintaining an accurate and updated database of client information.
  • Working with other departments to maximize profit and brings the highest service quality.
  • Planning and presenting reports on account progress, goals monthly to share with the team.
  • Working closely with the Key Account Coordinator to ensure all sales goal are being met.
  • Stay current on company products and services
  • Communicates clear team goals and KPI’s
  • Document customer interactions and transactions in ERP consistently.
  • Prioritizes issue resolution such as RFI’s, Q1’s, Q2’s, order delays, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand of bid requests through specifications/drawings ensuring quote is technically compatible and competitive
  • Maintain broad knowledge of products offered to Key Account Clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on client needs and factors that contribute to client satisfaction
  • Manage requests with use of.
    • Pricing software
    • Research Catalogs for product verification.
    • Promote product lines represented by CR Laurence cross sell, value engineer, and exhaust all CRL options to keep order inhouse.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment during the business process:
    • Qualifying
    • Quoting
    • Closing
    • Converting (Project Managing)
    • Effectively maintain communication with CRL customers during all business process stages.
    • Cross sell, value engineer, and exhaust all CRL options to keep order inhouse.
    • Maintain a manageable workload to not exceed 24-hour backlog on emails and returning voicemails.
  • Demonstrate a closing Ratio greater than 25% on all quotes above $25,000.00
  • Share industry knowledge, understanding, experiences and problem-solving abilities to Key Account.
  • Works with Technical Director on New Product Development and Product updates when needed.
  • Adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Project manage orders to align our customers critical path with promise date and deliver on the promise
  • Serve as an ambassador (customer advocate) between Key Account and CRL
  • Provide expert technical support and solutions
  • Create sense of urgency to lead our customer to release quotes to order in a timely manner for CRL to meet the projects critical path.
  • Represent CRL with pride and provide customers with exceptional experiences every customer every time.
  • Other duties as assigned


Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements


To be considered for the Key Account Manager position in the Product Group Department, the following conditions must be met:

  • A minimum of 2-3 years previous customer service experience or equivalent
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates/Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Ability to take ownership and go above and beyond to service customer needs
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and stay current with all inquiries and follow up
  • Strong organizational and listening skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment to meet required deadlines
  • Utilizes strong time management and organizational skills to successfully multi-task
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and conduct themselves professionally, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate aptitude with troubleshooting experience
  • Spanish speaking, a plus
  • Knowledge of general pricing and margins applied and negotiating skills
  • General understanding of glass systems
  • Effective navigation of CRL’s web site and business software to retrieve product and business transaction information
  • Must have excellent customer service skills; Ability to exercise tact and discretion, and good self-expression
  • Ability to read interpret, drawings, and Specifications.
