Position Overview

 

This position offers a diverse set of responsibilities and will work alongside President, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Senior Management on various issues and projects. The candidate is a skilled financial professional who understands business, operations and financial processes; has the ability to integrate finance and operations, and can collaborate with operational leadership.  Core behavioral characteristics we seek include: being a partner to business managers; implementing analytical decision-making in the business; and, proactively finding opportunities and recommending ideas for increased profitability. 

 

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

 

  • Ensure adequate controls are installed and maintained to safeguard the financial assets of the company. This includes all SOX controls, CRH Americas Materials (CRHAMAT) and Northeast Division accounting policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with CFO & Accounting Staff all requests/documentation related to external and internal audits.
  • Work with President, CFO & Senior management on financial analysis and Board Proposals for potential acquisitions and major CAPEX requests.
  • Communicate monthly financial results with the President, CFO and Senior management
  • Lead and/or assist on completing budgets and reforecast.
  • Work with President, CFO & Senior Management on Five Year Plan.
  • Review IRGAAP schedules bi-annually for completeness and accuracy prior to submission to Atlanta. 
  • Review financial statements. Be able to explain variances on queries.
  • Oversee back office and centralized functions at the local level.
  • Recommend & lead and/or assist new efforts to improve management and financial performance.
  • Work on ad hoc projects as directed.

 

Qualifications

 

  • BS degree in Accounting plus 5 or more years of relevant financial management experience. 
  • Knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting principles, methods, techniques, standards and metrics.
  • Knowledge of state taxation.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and set priorities.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong values and high standards of ethics, integrity, and trust.
  • The willingness to work extended hours with possible night and/or weekend work as well as overnights.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to use a computer to communicate and analyze data.  This includes but is not limited to the use of Outlook, MS Office programs, Hyperion financial software and other web-based programs.
  • Must possess and have working knowledge to complete necessary mathematical calculations.
  • A valid driver’s license and the willingness to travel for meetings is required.
