Position: CAD Engineer
Reports to: Engineering Helpdesk Manager
Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail – oriented CAD Engineer to create and modify technical
drawings and models using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. The CAD Engineer will collaborate with
engineering, design and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects, from concept
through production. The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
- Create detailed 2D and 3D models and drawings using CAD software
- Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and other design inputs to develop accurate CAD files
- Revise existing drawings and models based on engineering updates and feedback
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineers to ensure design feasibility
- Maintain and organise drawing files and documentation according to company standards
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical input as needed
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
- ERP Part and BOM creation for new parts, and maintenance of existing parts/products
- Creating & reviewing BOMs on the ERP system
- Support prototyping and testing by providing accurate design documentation
Associated Responsibilities:
- Assisting the product development and design teams as required
- Support of BIM system
Experience and Training:
- Technically advanced with the ability to manage complex issues, communicate effectively and work
- collaboratively in a team
- High level IT skills including proficiency in full MS Office suite, Adobe Pro, Advanced Excel an
- understanding of, and ability to utilise, digital communications tools such as email and intranets
- Must be educated to degree level, or equivalent, in an engineering discipline, Mechanical or
- Manufacturing background is desirable
- Previous experience mechanical or manufacturing engineering industry is advantageous
- Previous knowledge in sheet metal fabrication including polymers and composites is desirable
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of five GCSE’s, including English and Mathematics, or equivalent
- Proficient user of 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks
- Previous experience in ERP systems
