Collections Specialist – DPO (Special Accounts): This position will provide vital support to our team by acting as the liaison between Sales, Credit & Collections, & Billing Departments for all Special Handling and General Collections accounts. The successful candidate, must be able to work accurately with great attention to detail. Excellent communication skills are required, as they will be working with other departments providing service to both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the day to day collections processes of regular accounts receivable accounts and those that require special handling for all lines of business including those with Tax exempt status
  • Monitor aged receivables for assigned A/R accounts and take ownership of special handling accounts as assigned
  • Must be able to perform customer account reconciliations, review, research, and submit billing issues and adjustments for approval
  • Manage communications between sales and billing for disputes and discrepancies. This will include reviewing for accurate and complete documents for the creation of a special handling account
  • Work to improve the processing time of credits and rebills for assigned A/R accounts
  • Maintain accurate records and updates for process improvements and provide information to customers to ensure the timely collection of these accounts
  • Communicate troubled accounts and escalate potential risk to Credit & Collections Manager
  • Meet collection targets comparable to other Collectors in the Credit and Collections Department
  • Working closely with sales, and management to collect monies owed by the customer
  • Make collection calls as necessary for any outstanding customer payments within an assigned portfolio
  • Work closely with assigned plant personnel to ensure accurate and timely purchase order processing

 

Qualifications

  • Good organizational skills to coordinate all aspects of sales administration for Direct Purchase Order Management
  • Intermediate user with the Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel skills
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with Sales, Peers and Customers
  • Capable of conducting independent research and work autonomously
  • Familiarity with the industry is a plus
  • Minimum One Year Experience Required with purchase order management and / or tax exempt entities
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
