Key Responsibilities

Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains plants.

Operates and inspects machines and equipment to diagnose defects.

Dismantles and reassembles equipment using hoists, hand tools and power tools.

Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.

Replaces defective parts, assembles and sub-assembles as needed.
-
Welds broken parts and structural members using cutting torch and welding equipment.

May direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment.

Demonstrates skills in basic fabrication.

Services and greases plant parts (i.e. changing belts, greasing bearings and maintaining cleanliness of plants.

Orders and maintains inventory of plants parts, grease, asphalt oil, etc.

Performs recording keeping of time and parts used on appropriate forms.

Perform general cleaning of work areas and maintenance areas.

Assists other maintenance department staff in performing the duties necessary to assure the efficiency of operations of all plants.

Assist other departments as assigned to meet business needs.

Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.

Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.

Regular and timely attendance.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Minium Qualifications
-
Mechanical skills including knowledge of machines, tools, equipment, mechanic’s hand tools, power tools, welding and cutting equipment, lubricating tools, hoists, cranes, service trucks, diagnostic testing, electrical testing, and/or mechanical troubleshooting.

Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance and punctuality.

Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.
-
Demonstrates the ability to work overtime and weekends/holidays as needed.
-
Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
-
Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Previous crushing and/or maintenance experience.
-
Experience coaching or leading others a plus.

Primarily work 10-16 hours per day 5-7 days per week during the peak season, occasional night work.

May require traveling for periods of time to perform job duties at various job site locations.
