Job Description

 

Mechanical Maintenance Manager positions offered by Suwannee American Cement Company, LLC (Sumterville, Florida). Oversee projects and contract labor during routine and plant annual maintenance periods. Manage compliance with safety and environmental requirements to eliminate work-related risks by increased use of hazard recognition techniques. Give guidance, coaching, motivation, training, and development to direct reports at the same time that establishes and maintains close collaboration with parts/services suppliers, external technical services, internal technical resources across the platform, and internal and external networks to identify best practices and benchmark results to drive goal setting and achieving. Provide engineering technical assistance, troubleshooting expertise and project management support to the Maintenance Department. Ensure maximum equipment reliability, availability, and performance through strategic maintenance planning, preventive/predictive programs, and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide technical expertise, leadership, and direction to a multidisciplinary team while aligning maintenance activities with production, safety, quality, and cost objectives.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 10 years of experience leading teams in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
  • Must have 7 years of experience in each of the following:
    • Reading and interpreting technical drawings;
    • Identifying Key Performance Indicators reports for Maintenance and Reliability in Cement Plants, including MTBF, MTTR, and Schedule Compliance;
    • Performing Industrial Safety system Lock Out, Tag Out, Try Out (LOTOTO);
    • Utilizing workflow management and the application of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) in the improvement of equipment and facility reliability; and
    • Managing a team of at least 5 direct reports including salaried and hourly employees.

 

  • Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:
    • Performing precision measurements using technical measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, variance indicators, and bore and depth gauges);
    • Managing RCA (root cause analysis) program and utilizing RCA tools and methodologies, for both incidents and significant equipment failures in critical equipment of a cement plant (Kiln, Ball Mills, Vertical Mills, Crushers, Auxiliary Rotating Equipment and Stationary equipment);
    • Interpreting Ultrasound NDE testing results to identify any failure modes in equipment and develop repair strategies; and
    • Interpreting field fan balancing results and providing detailed guidelines on how to resolve imbalance issues.

 

  • Must have 3 years of experience in each of the following:
    • Assisting in the development and analysis of annual Operating budgets for mechanical maintenance, including making adjustments to deliver high reliability in a safe manner within the platform's expected operating budget; and
    • Assisting with and consulting on large capital projects of at least $10 million USD.

 

  • Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.
