Job Summary

Our location in Middleburg Heights, Ohio is looking for a motivated Material Handler to join our team. This position requires that material, including glass and metal, be organized, staged and then loaded onto company delivery and common carrier vehicles.  Using the best means for loading, which could be forklift or a pallet jack, the product is loaded in the trailer so it will not fall during transport.  The Material Handler is also responsible for restocking the shelves as well as keeping the areas clear. This is a 1st shift position that may have daily or weekend overtime as dictated by the production schedule.   


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Obtain shipping schedule from Plant Manager – use AS400 to create trucks daily
  • Locate product in the facility and load the trailer in the manner which best suits the type of load. Load production on the truck in the reverse order of the route
  • Handle product in a manner that will not cause damage to the product or injury to self or others. Move packed product utilizing a forklift, sidewinder, or pallet jack
  • Confirm that the number on the shipping documentation is the one being loaded
  • Put away stock within 48 hours of receiving. Label all boxes with correct color-coding system and sales order
  • Set-up UPS/FED-EX outgoing deliveries. 
  • Recognize product defects and notify supervisor immediately of any issues
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area and assist with general housekeeping in using the 5S method 
  • Be aware of your surroundings and be safe while taking load off of racks, paying special attention to the individuals in the orange safety jackets and other PPE
  • The "team concept" instituted for plant facility production workers requires each worker to perform different functions on a rotating basis.  Therefore, all shop functions required by supervisors are considered essential functions for the job.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, ability to safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job
  • Other duties as assigned




  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
  • Two years of previous shipping/receiving work experience in a warehouse, manufacturing or production facility, required
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be courteous to others
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate paperwork and labels
  • Must be able to follow verbal and basic written instructions
  • Ability to become certified on required equipment within a reasonable amount of time
  • All production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of production
  • Flexible work availability to work overtime as required
  • Must be able to constantly bend, squat, reach, lift and push
  • Ability to push/pull/lift/carry up to  75 lbs. frequently
  • Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region (Heat, humidity, etc.)
