Job Summary

Our location in Middleburg Heights, OH is looking for a Project Manager to join our team. A perfect candidate will demonstrate leadership in safety while maintaining world-class quality and optimum productivity. This is a training position with intended progression into a Project Manager role based on performance and business volume. This candidate will work closely with a Senior Project Manager and support their roles and responsibilities. This position may have daily or weekend overtime as dictated by production needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review of architectural, structural drawings, fabrication and shop drawing submittals against scope of work in the proposal.
  • Manage the development of shop drawing plans, elevations, wall sections and details for architectural glazing products using estimates, take-offs, project specifications, and/or architectural and structural drawings
  • Prepare, update and communicate project schedules. Meet scheduled completion dates as outlined by the program schedule
  • Reviewing/revising drawings, per red line markups and written directions from customer, and other submittal documents as needed.
  • Create and manage fabrication documents from the approved shop drawings or inputs provided
  • Create and manage tag drawings for packing and installation
  • Coordinate outside resources as needed to achieve project delivery goals.
  • Create material order paperwork, quantifying glass, aluminum parts, steel, etc.
  • Coordinate project information/documentation distribution, storage, and retrieval.
  • Coordinate software and data interface between multiple internal and external customers and departments.
  • Coordinate materials, inventory requirements and shipments through product design, fabrication and installation.
  • Resolution of issues with internal and external customers that may arise during the project.
  • Complete program support responsibilities for clients relating to the coordination of shop drawings/submittals, fabrication documents, and material orders.
  • Use AutoCAD, Inventor and Revit software to create and manage project documents.
  • Work directly with clients on design or cost initiatives under the direction of our sales consultants.
  • Provide support to sales and estimating for new and ongoing projects.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of this job.

Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements

To be considered for the Project Manager position, the following conditions must be met:

  • Minimum Four (4) year B.S. Degree in Construction, Engineering or related discipline
  • Must be capable of reading architectural plans and structural drawings.
  • Must be functional in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel/Word/Project.
  • Functional knowledge of Revit or Inventor is a plus
  • Experience with AlphaCam/CNC programming and panel fabrication documents a plus
  • Experience in Engineering, Estimating, Construction related Manufacturing, or Commercial Glazing, Curtain Wall or Skylight industry is a plus.
  • Experience in supporting estimating and material coordination
  • Must be self-motivated and flexible, with the ability to function in a team environment.
  • Ability to travel periodically to job sites and /or customers.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to write concise technical business correspondence.
  • Ability to work under pressure and comfortable with change and time constraints.
  • Ability to negotiate in a fair, firm, professional and friendly manner.
